The Roof Block functions as a support system for gas piping, conduit, HVAC, cable trays and mechanical equipment. It is designed to eliminate roof penetrations, flashings and/or damage to roofing membranes. The product was engineered with contractors in mind, and made to be quickly installed, expanded and adjusted to support any piping or mechanical roofing equipment need. The product’s stable design, cushioned base, unique pipe saddle design and reinforced screw starter guides are just some of the features that make the Roof Block the perfect solution for any contractor’s roof piping and mechanical equipment support needs.

Dimensions and Weight

  • 8-7/8″ square by 4-1/2″ high
  • Top accessory adds 1-1/2″ to height for 6″ height requirement
  • Weight of product is 1lb per block

Load Bearing

  • Supports either single point loads or dual point strut-mounted loads.
  • For a single point load the block can support a maximum weight of 250lbs./113kg.
  • A dual point strut-mounted load can support a maximum weight of 350/158kg.

Base Material

  • Made up of a 1″ thick by 25psi Type 4 closed cell structural foam.
  • Designed with an end-to-end interlocking feature to connect multiple blocks and create wide surfaces.

Body Material

  • Made up of a 1″ thick by 25psi Type 4 closed cell structural foam.
  • Designed with an end-to-end interlocking feature to connect multiple blocks and create wide surfaces.

Spacing

  • Space Roof Blocks approximately every seven feet along all piping.

Pipe Fastening

  • Top surface easily adapts to all types of piping clamps, clips, slotted struts and 3/8″ or 1/2″ threaded rod.
  • Special screw indent design helps guide fastening screws into place.

Product Accessories

Height and Elevated Extensions

  • Fastens directly on top of the Roof Block with screws or can be elevated from block with extension rods.

Extension Rods

  • Screws directly into the top of the Roof Block’s engineered rod holes and nut slots
  • Rods can also be screwed directly into the height extension accessory.
  • Used to elevate height extension accessories to accommodate all types of piping and mechanical equipment.

Steel Strut Channel

  • Easily attaches to Roof Block surface
  • Spreads weight load evenly
  • Extends maximum weight from 250lbs. to 350lbs.

Elevated Strut

  • Strut channels can be elevated with extension rods that are secured to the Roof Block.
  • Helps to increase height and support multiple types of piping systems and mechanical equipment.

Securing Brackets

  • Two brackets secure the Roof Block directly to roof with M-1 adhesive.
